THE PICTURE I ORDERED CAME BADLY CROPPED?

Pictures can only be printed in standard sizes (e.g., 4x6 inches). If the picture file your camp uploads to the Photo Gallery does not have that height to width ratio – either because their camera was set to a different ratio or because they edited the picture after taking it – our photo fulfillment provider has three choices:

  1. Stretch the image to fit the print. As this option will distort the picture, we do not stretch to fit.
  2. Crop the image. If the camper is at the edge of the picture, cropping to fit the print could cut the most important part of the picture out of the print so we do not crop the image either.
  3. Shrink the image to fit the print. This is the only option that does not distort the image nor risks cutting the camper out of the print so this is the option we have directed our photo fulfillment provider to use. That said, if the image is shrunk to fit, there has to be a white space at the sides or above/below the image (depending on which dimension of the image was too short). This is an unavoidable consequence of shrinking the image to fit the print.

Any photo fulfillment provider faces the same three choices when presented with a non-standard image size. This is the same with our photo fulfillment provider (Kodak) as it would be with Shutterfly, Snapfish or any other photo fulfillment provider.
