WHY ARE THE PICTURES FUZZY?

Your camp takes the pictures and uploads them to the website. Bunk1 is not on location at camp. If you have feedback regarding photo quality, you would have to contact the camp directly.

Before you do so, please check your computer monitor settings (e.g., brightness, contrast) as these can affect how the pictures appear on your computer.

You can check if a picture was taken at a high resolution by clicking on the “buy this photo” link below the pictures. Most of the pictures I checked were of high enough resolution to purchase at least a 4x6 inch print. If, despite being taken at a high resolution, the pictures are fuzzy, this would indicate that the original photo shot at camp was taken out of focus.

Note to AOL users:

Some browsers include some settings that may cause some of the pictures you are viewing to look fuzzy. For instance, AOL automatically compresses *any* picture you wish to see. As the images posted to Bunk1-provided Photo Galleries are already formatted for an optimal tradeoff between page load speed and image clarity, this additional compression can result in blurry images. If these pictures you see are not clear, you have two options:

OPTION #1: CHANGE YOUR AOL PREFERENCES

AOL 7.0 - 9.0

  1. Click "Settings" on the AOL toolbar
  2. (AOL 7.0 & 8.0 only) Click on "Preferences"
  3. Click on "Internet (Web) Options" or "Internet Properties (WWW)"
  4. Find the "AOL Browser" or "Web Graphics" section (click the tab to access, if necessary)
  5. Click the circle next to "Never Compress Graphics"
  6. If there is a section on this page about "TopSpeed", click the circle next to "Do not store Web pages" or uncheck the box next to “Optimize Web browsing using TopSpeed technology”
  7. Click "OK"

OPTION #2: USE INTERNET EXPLORER

  1. Connect to the Internet with AOL
  2. Minimize AOL (click on the rightmost of the three buttons in the top left corner of your AOL window)
  3. Open Internet Explorer (Look for a blue, lower case "e" on your desktop)
  4. Type in your camp's address and access the Photo Gallery as you would using AOL.
