We share your concerns about privacy. For your security, we do not disclose your user information (e.g., username and password) via email EXCEPT to the email address you provide during registration. When you register and when you are approved by camp for access to the password protected Community areas you may receive an automated email containing username and password information for your records. You may also request that a username and password reminder email be sent to you (but only to the email address you provide during registration.)
These automated features are fairly standard practice as the risk that this type of information will be intercepted is quite low. Some companies, particularly those that store financial data (Bunk1 does not retain this information), are extra cautious and do not email username and password under any circumstances. Initially Bunk1 did not do so either but we quickly received a great many “I forgot my password” emails (as much as 10% of our registered users!) so we added the username and password information to the email as a convenience.
Ultimately, the balance between convenience and security is a judgment call. We believe that this is the correct decision in our situation but if you remain uncomfortable, you can change your password by signing in to your camp's password protected Community areas using your username and password and clicking on the underlined text "Edit Your Profile".
