TERMS OF AGREEMENT
(1) This contract shall not be valid unless signed by the Parent or Guardian of the camper to be enrolled.
(2) The parent/s and camper agree to abide by all camp policies including, but not limited to, those set forth under the section "POLICIES."
(3) A camper registration form is only processed after receiving the $1800 deposit. The deposit and/or registration payments are refundable (less a $175 processing fee) prior to November 15th (after Nov. 15th – less a $500 processing fee). Registration fees received after November 15th are refundable (less a $500 processing fee) until March 1st. Registration fees received after March 1st are refundable (less a $500 processing fee) for 30 days from receipt of registration.
(4) In the event of a camper withdrawal from camp during the summer season for reasons of health, the balance of the pro-rata tuition less the processing fee will be refunded. No tuition adjustments or refunds will be made for late arrivals, early departures, or dismissal for misconduct or violation of a camp policy.
(5) For the safety and general welfare of all campers, the Camp reserves the unrestricted right to dismiss a camper whose conduct or influence, in the opinion of the Director, is detrimental to the best interests of the Camp.
(6) This contract constitutes the full understanding of the parties hereto and no change, modification, or waiver of any of the terms shall be effective unless in writing and signed by both parties.
(7) Uniforms, guided trips, and listed options are the only items not included in the tuition. Purchases in the Sugar Shack (camp store), other than included snacks, require a credit card on file.
(8) Consent is given for likenesses of the applicant to be used in promotion of Camp Wa-Klo.
POLICIES
PHONE CALLS. Campers may not make or receive telephone calls while at camp. With many campers, phone calls can cause anxiety and often bring about severe cases of homesickness. However, a parent may call the camp office to speak to the camper advocate, area head, the camp nurse, a counselor, or to one of the directors. The only exception to the “no telephone policy” is on a camper’s birthday or if a camper has a prolonged stay in the infirmary.*
ELECTRONIC & CELL PHONE POLICY. Cell phones of any kind are not allowed at camp. Electronic devices that can access the internet or cellular services are not allowed. This includes computers, netbooks, hand-held game devices, iTouch and the like, tablets, Ereaders, etc. The only electronic device allowed is the iPod Shuffle or Nano (or the like). A small speaker unit to play the Shuffle or Nano is also allowed. No one can walk around camp “plugged-in” at any time.*
PERSONAL BELONGINGS & SEARCH POLICY. Camp Wa-Klo is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal property. ALL belongings must be labeled with camper’s name. Camp also reserves the right to search through personal belongings if camp believes there is just cause (threat to camp, person/s, or environment).
VISITING POLICY. The camping environment is a sensitive one; one which depends on everyone working together to make the community work. Therefore, in respect for all campers and individual sensibilities, camp has a “no visitor” policy. Campers, also, cannot leave the camp with any visitor at any time.*
ZERO TOLERANCE. Wa-Klo has a zero tolerance for drugs, alcohol, tobacco, and weapons on camp property. If a camper chooses to violate these policies while under the care and authority of Camp Wa-Klo, the camper’s parents will be notified, and she will be immediately removed from the camp community and wait for transport home.*
BUNK REQUESTS. Much time is given by the administrative team when making bunk assignments. Because of all the delicate and intricate issues that have to be weighed to comprise bunks, NO bunk requests will be accepted. Parents must trust the administrative team that bunk placements are made in the camper’s best interest.*
NUT FREE. Camp Wa-Klo is a NUT FREE camp. When packages are sent to camp, the sender MUST be DILIGENT in efforts to keep all items with nuts or nut contamination out of packages.*
GRATUITIES. Tipping or the giving of any gratuities to any staff member, in whatever manner or fashion, is not allowed.
MEDICAL PERMISSION STATEMENT
I hereby give CAMP WA-KLO permission to take my child to any hospital facility or outside doctor when deemed necessary. Furthermore, I hereby give permission to such hospital or outside doctor to authorize x-rays and emergency treatment if deemed necessary. My child has permission to participate in all camp activities except as noted by me and/or an examining physician on mandatory health forms. I understand that all medical bills for service rendered by anyone other than the camp medical staff will be covered by the camp medical insurance. Should the medical care be in excess of the camp insurance coverage, it will be my responsibility or my private medical insurance company to cover additional costs. I authorize the release of any medical information or records related to treatment, referral, billing, or insurance purposes related to my child. A copy of this document may be accepted in lieu of the original.
I have read, understand, and agree to comply with and support the Camp Policies, the Terms of Agreement, and the Medical Permission Statement. I understand that the list of policies does not constitute the entirety of the camp policies and behaviors with which I or my child must comply.
In the event that this Agreement is executed by one parent, I acknowledge that I am also acting as the agent of the other parent with authority to so enroll my child at Camp Wa-Klo and to execute this Agreement on his or her behalf. I recognize that the Camp relies upon the representations herein made in accepting this enrollment. This application constitutes an enrollment agreement only when accepted by Camp Wa-Klo in writing and shall be constituted in and under the laws of the State of New Hampshire.
